How to Make THC Lollipops with Cannabutter
Nowadays, there are numerous ways to enjoy edibles, with new and traditional favorites, treats, and recipes available online and at local dispensaries. But if you have a sweet tooth and want to try your hand at making homemade LĒVO-infused lollipops, this recipe is for you.
These lollipops are convenient and discreet, giving you an easier way to enjoy the benefits and effects of your infused ingredients while on the go or relaxing at home.
If you have a LĒVO infusion machine, this recipe for infused candy is even simpler. The infusion machine takes care of the recipe’s most difficult and time-consuming part: decarbing and infusing the butter. If you don’t have a LĒVO yet (and why not?) but still want to make this tasty and flavorful recipe, you can find those manual, old fashioned oven-to-stovetop instructions here.
Making cannabutter used to involve watching over the stove and making sure your cannabis was decarboxylated completely, but not burned. And it smelled up your kitchen and even your whole house! Now you just press a button on the infusion machine, and everything is taken care of for you with minimal mess or odor.
There are a lot of DIY hard candy options, but lollipops are one of the easiest treats to make. Below are the steps, items, and ingredients you’ll need to make your own infused lollipops.
The more difficult part when making these infused candies is ensuring the temperatures are accurate. You will need a candy thermometer and know how to use it. The instructions on the thermometer will show you how to measure the temperature. Practice measuring the temperature of boiling water. Boiling water should be anywhere from 200°F to 212°F, depending on your elevation.
Once you feel confident with this recipe, you can customize your edibles with different flavors and even different sucker shapes. You could make square or star-shaped suckers or even heart-shaped lollipops for Valentine’s Day. Traditional lollipop shapes are always a great option too.
When first making homemade lollipops, start with the simplest flavors first. Grape and cherry are good flavors to try. Once you have the recipe down and the flavors are enjoyable, then you can experiment with more complex flavors or flavor combinations.
You could even make pinwheel designs in your suckers if you have notable color contrast flavors. If you want to become a connoisseur of infused lollipops, you could also make layered lollipops with different flavors in each layer.
It is possible to make sugar-free versions of these lollipops. Just substitute sugar-free syrup for the corn syrup and use sugar-free gelatin. It is best to stick with the original version of the recipe until you have it down before trying to use sugar substitutes.
Note: As always, be sure to store these lollipops out of the reach of children. When consuming edibles, it’s important to note the dosage of the treat. Only eat one of these lollipops and wait an hour, or until you are sure of the strength of your cannabutter.
