Cannabis and Fire Arms Bill Put Forward to Congress
The first cannabis bill for the 118th Congress was introduced and seeks to amend federal laws that are related to medical marijuana users and the purchase of firearms.
Currently, all marijuana, medicinal and recreational, users are banned from purchasing or possessing fire arms, according to news reporting. This is due to the fact that marijuana is still a federally controlled substance. The new bill aims to change.
This bills is sponsored by Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV) and co-sponsored by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL).
Sources in the news report share this bill is similar to one that was introduced in 2019, which did not pass.
