Cannabis Sales on 4/20 Reach an All Time High Across the U.S.

Data compiled from dispensary POS systems across the country revealed this year’s 4/20 was one of the biggest days for marijuana sales, blowing past the numbers from years past.

According to a report by Green Entrepreneur, cannabis retail software company Cova, sales across the United States reached an estimated $128 million on April 20th alone.

Cova also reports that 647 new stores celebrated their first 4/20 this year, a number that is slightly higher than the previous year. Compared to the four previous Wednesdays, the average cannabis dispensary experienced nearly 150% increase in sales, according to data from Headset.

Experts believe with more states legalizing adult-use cannabis and federal legalization looming, this trend will likely continue in the coming years.
