First-ever Medical Cannabis Conference in Alabama Slated for October
BIRMINGHAM, AL – The city of Birmingham is gearing up to host Alabama’s inaugural medical cannabis conference this October, according to WSPA.
The event, set to be held at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel on October 13th and 14th, will feature 31 companies, including Jennifer Boozer’s Cannabama, which is not selling medical cannabis but educates customers about CBD benefits.
“CBD changed my life,” Boozer told WSFA. “I had been a chronic pain patient since I was a teenager, had migraines.”
Despite the legalization of medical cannabis in 2021, hurdles have delayed its availability to patients, leaving the medical cannabis commission uncertain about product launch dates.
Chey Garrigan and the Alabama Cannabis Industry Association are spearheading the event, aiming to foster industry growth and to attract state officials to enhance their knowledge about the burgeoning medical cannabis industry.
