Illinois Governor Issues Conditional Cannabis Licenses to 3 Springfield Businesses

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Residents of Springfield could see several new dispensaries open their doors in the near future, according to the State Journal-Register.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker recently announced 177 conditional adult-use dispensing licenses after a Cook County judge lifted a legal stay over two months ago. Three of those licenses are going to Springfield-based operations: Herban Quality Control, Dealership LLC, and Bolden Investments III LLC.

The conditionally-licensed businesses are now faced with the challenge of finding a physical location within 180 days. Once a location is established, they will be issued a full license to sell cannabis to Illinoisans over the age of 21.

The cannabis industry in Illinois regularly breaks sales reports, surpassing $135.6 million last month alone. Should these trends continue, the state will blow past the $1.37 billion in cannabis sales from 2021 before November.
