Indiana Lawmakers Finally Gave Green Light in Public Meeting
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A handful of Republican legislative leaders finally gave their green light at a public input meeting on Tuesday, September 20.
While those leaders reported they would have preferred to wait for federal legalization first, they still finally gave the green light, according to FOX59. However, no legislative was taken at the meeting as it cannot be taken until January.
The public meeting was hosted by the Interim Study Committee on Public Health, Behavioral Health, and Human Services. It was hosted as a public forum to discuss impacts of legalization of marijuana in the state.
FOX59 reported it was a full meeting and lawmakers from both parties and chambers were present, as well as numerous public health officials.
