Kent State University Launches Ohio’s First Cannabis Certification Courses

OHIO – Kent State University is set to pioneer Ohio’s first cannabis certification courses following the recent legalization of recreational marijuana in the state, according to WJW.

In partnership with industry specialist Green Flower, the six-month, entirely online program encompasses business, healthcare, compliance, and agriculture aspects of the cannabis industry.

Max Simon, CEO of Green Flower, highlights the program’s unique value for aspiring entrepreneurs, managers, and industry service providers.

“Even before legalization even took place, Kent State said this is an industry they wanted to help develop the new workforce,” said Simon.

Taught by seasoned industry professionals, the courses aim to equip individuals with specialized knowledge and skills tailored to the cannabis sector.

“All of these programs are taught by industry veterans, people who have been building businesses across the country. They understand the nuances of cannabis as an industry and cannabis as a product type,” Simon continued.

The first classes are scheduled to commence in January 2024.
