Kentucky Cannabis Committee to Hold Public Town Halls on Medical Legalization
KENTUCKY – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee has set dates for the first two public town hall meetings concerning medical cannabis legalization.
According to WLKY, the first meeting will be held on July 6th at the University of Pikeville, and the second will be on July 19th at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Building in Frankfort.
The meetings are being held in an effort to gauge the public’s opinion on legalizing medical cannabis across the state.
Despite a legalization bill passing in Kentucky’s House of Representative earlier this year, the bill never made it to a vote or a hearing in the State Senate.
“The public’s for it, maybe they’ll get riled up, call Senate leadership and something will come out of this,” said committee member Eric Crawford.
Two additional town hall meetings are expected to be held. However, the committee has not set dates for those at this time.
