Latest Study Shares Over Quarter of U.S. Adults Use Cannabis for Pain
A recent study conducted by JAMA Open Network revealed that 26% of adults surveyed in the U.S. turned to cannabis for chronic pain.
According to The Hill, the study was conducted by researchers at Michigan Medicine and surveyed 1,661 adults. Only adults with chronic pain who lived in states with active cannabis programs were surveyed.
Of the 26% mentioned above, half of those shared that cannabis allowed them to reduce their use of prescription pain medications, including opioids and non-opiods, as well as over-the-counter pain relief medications.
Additionally, 39% of the surveyed adults who utilized cannabis for pain reported the need for less physical therapy.
