Medicinal Marijuana Almost Legal in Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, KY – Governor Andy Beshear signed an executive order that will legalize citizens of the state to possess under 8 ounces of medicinal marijuana purchased from states that can legally sell it.
WDRB reports the executive order is set to go into effect on January 1, 2023.
In order to legally possess, citizens must meet three pieces of criteria. First, they must purchase the medicinal marijuana in a state where it is legal to sell.
Next, they can not purchase or possess more than 8 ounces.
Finally, they must possess a certificate of proof from a licensed medical professional that proves they are diagnosed with at least one of 21 medical conditions. That lists includes conditions such as, cancer, PTSD, epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, and several more conditions.
