OK Judge Rules It’s Unconstitutional to Ban Marijuana Users from Owning Firearms
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Oklahoma judge ruled in the Harrison case that the current federal law prohibiting marijuana users from owning firearms is unconstitutional.
This is only one in several cases recently that have been debating the same issue, such as, the case in Midland, Texas in September 2022 where the judge ruled it was unconstitutional as well, according to ABC News.
Harrison was pulled during a traffic stop in May 2022 in Lawton, OK and police found he had a loaded revolver and marijuana in his vehicle at the time. His attorney argued the case on the side of it was unconstitutional to withhold someone’s right to own fire arms based on marijuana use or possession.
