Recent Poll Shows 69% of Americans Favor Marijuana Legalization

Gallup recently shared a poll that portrayed in the past 22 years favor of legalizing marijuana among Americans has increased from 31% to 69%.

Polls from 2000 to 2022 show that Americans are increasingly becoming more relaxed in their views of legalizing marijuana, according to CNN.

The poll also shows that even after years of opposition many Republicans are now in favor of legalizing marijuana. In 2000 only 22% of Republicans were in favor of it but in 2022 the poll showed 52% of Republicans. It still is not close to the 84% of Democrats who are in favor of legalizing marijuana.

Currently, 37 states in the U.S. have legalized either medicinal marijuana or recreational marijuana or both.
