WILMINGTON, DE – While still not supported by Delaware’s governor, recreational marijuana became legal at midnight on Sunday.
According to CBS NEWS, the bill passing legalization will not be signed by Governor John Carney nor will he veto it, which allows it to pass.
Anyone ages 21 and up will now be able to purchase and use recreational marijuana. However, the state still has not established dispensaries to sell recreational marijuana.
The bill covers the requirements and regulations for businesses to obtain licensing for selling recreational marijuana.
As the state does not have sales tax it is still unclear to how recreational marijuana will be taxed.
