Sacramento City Leaders Meet on Cannabis Consumption Lounge Plan
SACRAMENTO, CA – City leaders in Sacramento met Tuesday to hear details concerning a plan that would allow dispensaries to open lounges for customers to consume cannabis on the property, MSN reports.
Although a new state law would allow the consumption of cannabis products in designated spaces, the idea remains banned in the city of Sacramento.
The city’s Cannabis Manager recommended the idea as well as best practices for consumption lounges to operate safely, including:
- Setting time limits
- Monitoring usage
- Additional staff training
- Requiring lounges to offer ride-share or transit passes
After hearing plan, the Sacramento’s Law and Legislative Committee will decide which elements will be pushed forward for a discussion in city council.
