How to Make Homemade Infused Lip Balm

Extreme temperatures and climate conditions cause the lips to chap, dry, and peel. A LĒVO infused THC or CBD lip balm is a perfect solution to restore and protect your lips.

Cannabis Infused Lip Balm
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of herb-infused coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon shea butter
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons beeswax
- 5 to 8 drops calendula oil or other essential oil
Instructions
- Begin by defusing your coconut oil with decarbed flower.
- Measure out your ingredients.
- Melt the beeswax and shea butter in the microwave or double boiler.
- Stir in the infused coconut oil.
- Add drops of calendula essential oil.
- Use a heat-safe dropper or pipette to fill each of the lip balm jars or containers.
- Let cool in the jar or tube for at least 30 minutes before putting the lid or top of tubes or containers.
You can add a few drops of any essential oil to this mixture. You can also use cocoa butter instead of shea butter. This is an easy recipe to make substitutions. Just make sure the consistency is appropriate for a balm. Add additional small amounts of beeswax if the mixture is too runny.
You will need about a dozen empty lip balm tubes or small tins to store the lip balm mixture. You can use empty ones you already have or buy them from local container stores or distributors.

Note: Decarboxylation involves heating raw flower so that cannabis becomes psychoactive. THC become active at 220° Fahrenheit, and it causes the release of carbon dioxide and the formation of new molecular structures.

How Do I Store and Use Cannabis-Infused Lip Balm?
If you place the lip balm in a cool, dry place, it will not expire for at least six months. Label with the date and strain used so you know when it may be time to dispose of a batch and make a new one.
Apply frequently throughout the day or as needed. Once your chapped lips are smooth and moisturized again, regularly using the balm will help prevent similar issues in the future.
To apply using a lip balm tube, simply twist the bottom, so the product moves upward. Smooth a thin layer on the lips. If the lip balm is in a tin or container, dab a fingertip into the lip balm and scoop out a very small amount and gently rub it into your lips.
